Maestrani - Chocolate pleasure with responsibility

For more than 160 years, the Swiss manufacturer Maestrani has been producing sweet chocolate temptations, with a focus on corporate climate protection. All of the company's greenhouse gas emissions are determined annually by means of a CO₂ balance sheet. All business activities, from auxiliary materials and raw materials to energy consumption and transport, are analyzed and evaluated. Maestrani uses the myclimate myclimate CO2 balancing software for CO₂ and resource management.

Since 2014, Maestrani has been producing chocolate for which responsibility is taken for emissions. The chocolate bars in the Maestrani Organic and Fairtrade line have been awarded the myclimate label. For this purpose, Maestrani has had the specific CO₂ emissions of its organic and Fairtrade chocolate line calculated by myclimate and invests a corresponding amount in myclimate's carbon offset project Efficient Stoves in Peru

Furthermore, Maestrani balances its business mobility and also pays corresponding contributions into the carbon offset project Efficient Stoves in Peru.


The choosen climate protection project aims at improving the living conditions of the local population in various regions of Peru in the long run. To do so, the project introduces efficient cook stoves with chimneys. It also reduces demand for unsustainably produced firewood. This reduces CO₂ emissions and protects the local forest.
