As the first tourism organisation in Switzerland, Zurich Tourism offsets the emissions which originate from its activities (business trips, events, electricity, fuel etc.) from 2010 on. On the occasion of a press conference on 24th of July, myclimate CEO René Estermann submitted the compensation confirmation to Frank Bumann, director of Zurich Tourism. The money flows into a climate protection project in India. India has been selected on purpose because it is a future market for the tourism organisation. The cooperation with myclimate is part of a long-term sustainability strategy. Further activities are planned. Also compensation offers are designated to be implemented.
