This year's TTW Montreux – the official trade fair of the Swiss travel industry – included a premiere. myclimate awarded the most successful and most ambitious clients and partners of the Swiss travel industry.
The travel industry is an important partner for myclimate. M-Travel, Kuoni, TUI Suisse and Globetrotter Travel Service – the four big Swiss travel organisations and ceveral hundred smaller travel agencies offer the myclimate ticket to their customers, directly or over their websites.
The awards was presented in five catgories to the most successful offset partners in the Swiss travel industry:
The first tour operator with a compulsory carbon offset contribution
The first myclimate award was bestowed on Team Reisen, who implemented in May 2008 a compulsory carbon offset fee of 30 CHF on every booked holiday.
Best integrated sales solution
The team from berg-welt received an award for the best integrated sales solution. berg-welt is the first Swiss tour operator to offer air travel exclusively with carbon offset.
Most successful offset partner (in terms of sales and commitment)
Globetrotter received the award for the most successful offset partner, with 130,000 CHF being transferred to myclimate in 2008.
Most ambitious promotional activities
A myclimate award was given to Kuoni for the most ambitious promotional activity - sales of the myclimate tickets were successfully increased with the help of e-learning tools and promotional materials.
Special award
The special award went to the software developer Umbrella, who programmed myclimate's ticketing application free of charge. One click of the mouse is all it takes to print out a myclimate ticket and bill the client for the flight at the same time.
The award was being presented by Sandra Boner, moderator of the weather broadcast SF METEO on SFDRS.
