Urs Egger is a professor at the School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences and already has a long career in research, development cooperation and business behind him. He has been politically active for many years as whip for the FDP in the canton of Zurich and as a district councillor, and given his former roles as President of the City of Zurich Football Association and of FC Seefeld he will also bring the sporting spirit to myclimate. “myclimate’s private-industry approach is one of the secrets to the foundation’s success. Despite all of the achievements to date, the path to effective climate protection is still a long one. I want to help move successfully forward along this path of voluntary commitment,” said the new President of the myclimate Foundation Board.
This marks the end of an era: <link fontana-projects.com/site/index.html - external-link "Opens external link in current window">Dr Giatgen-Peder Fontana</link> officially passed the torch to his successor at the myclimate summer celebration on 18 June. Fontana stepped down from his long term as President of the Foundation Board at myclimate. The renowned Swiss businessman helped to shape myclimate from its very first days. After making significant contributions to founding the private initiative CliPP, he has been active in the Foundation Board since the fusion with myclimate. In 2011 he was named President of the steering committee. In his witty farewell address, he gave myclimate the advice, “not to rest on its laurels, but to continue being innovative and forward-looking and above all to continue pursuing the goal of effective climate protection.”
On the same evening, Simon Lehmann was introduced as a member of the Foundation Board. With his broad business background and his commercial and online expertise, Lehmann brings valuable skills to the myclimate Foundation Board.
