Drees & Sommer relies on the competence of myclimate

Since the beginning of 2020, the planning and consulting company Drees & Sommer has been able to show a positive climate balance. The company was supported by myclimate in calculating its CO2 footprint. The myclimate CO2 balancing software formed the basis for the preparation of the carbon footprint.

The web-based platform was used to calculate the company's consumption in different areas (scopes) such as energy (heat and electricity), business travel and vehicle fleet. The figures from all German Drees & Sommer locations were included in the calculation. The result was then extrapolated to the company's foreign branches. The myclimate CO2 balancing software proved to be a simple but efficient tool for professional climate accounting.
Based on these calculations, Drees & Sommer is expanding numerous measures as part of its sustainability strategy to further avoid and reduce fossil emissions in all corporate divisions and processes. Planned measures include the gradual conversion of the vehicle fleet to alternative drives, the expansion of photovoltaic systems at various locations and the use of environmentally friendly products. Drees & Sommer's long-term goal is to become a Beneficial Company - in other words, a company that, in addition to its business success, also generates the greatest possible benefit for the environment and society.
